Welcome. I am Tomoki Yamaguchi, an assistant professor in the Faculty of Commerce at Doshisha University and a doctoral candidate in the Graduate School of Economics at Kyoto University.

My research sits at the intersection of strategic management and organizational theory, with a particular focus on how corporate philosophy shapes organizational cognition and dynamic capabilities. Specifically, I examine how articulated managerial values function as a form of cognitive infrastructure — structuring shared mental models across organizational levels and enabling coordinated strategic action.

My empirical work draws on in-depth interviews with executives and employees across multiple Japanese firms, complemented by large-scale text analysis of corporate disclosures.

I completed my graduate training at Kyoto University under Professor Shige Makino, and my work has been presented at both domestic and international academic conferences.

2026年4月より同志社大学商学部助教、同年3月まで京都大学経済学研究科博士後期課程に在籍。

研究領域は経営戦略論と組織論の交差点に位置しており、とりわけ経営理念が組織の認知とダイナミック・ケイパビリティをいかに形成するかを中心的な問いとしている。具体的には、経営者が言語化した価値観が組織の「認知インフラ」として機能し、組織階層を横断したShared Mental Modelの形成と戦略的行動の統合を促すメカニズムを探求している。

実証研究では、複数の日本企業における経営幹部および従業員へのインタビューを主たるデータとし、有価証券報告書等を用いたテキスト分析や全世界の上場・非上場企業の大規模財務データも組み合わせて分析している。
